  1. I bought one of these from a Chinese trader on eBay. It cost me £345 with 16Gb RAM and 512Gb storage space. Over the years I’ve bought cheap Chinese phones with vanilla Android so this is a bit of a step for me. Having a Chinese ROM and MIUI is something I had to learn to deal with, as well as some things that just work differently, but I got there in the end. I installed the Nova homepage on it, which gives it a familiar day-to-day interface for me. I only have the Google apps that I want, not those I’m forced to have which is nice. It’s a very good phone, the photos are far better than any I’ve taken on smartphones before. I’ve put my music on it, and, in conjunction with a cheap Aliexpress bluetooth receiver and OneOdio wired headphones, I get far better sound than on my last phone, and no skips in the music. I am also able to make and receive calls in a particularly “dead signal” part of my flat, whereas I often got cut off, or told by people that I sounded muffled with my old phone.
